Very common failure. Do a search here on windshield washer leak, and you will find page after page of posts.

Mine leaked at one of the pumps. Pulled the pump, found a broken o ring, went to Lowes, matched it to one in the plumbing section, installed and drove away with no more leak. Think a pack of six were about $2.00 Hopefully yours is as easy as mine was, good luck

thanks guys.. .. common failure huh? i will check it out tomorrow.
Is there a list of common failures?..i need to recheck the main page So far i have had: - the tailight issue where the bulb contact point burnt out. - leak under power steering resevoir - and now the leaking windshield washer tank... I really dont mind cause i get that feeling of satisfaction when i fix something.. and thank god its not major things. I guess when i get older i may sart to find them annoying... Thanks JCL and rlabair... |

Great attitude and you are welcome. Reality is, it really starts bothering you when you get older and start falling apart! Good luck with repair, hope it's simple.

ok.. so I took out the tank and discnnected the pumps and wires etc..
Facing the engine.. the pump at the back left is where the leak is comming from.. I wrapped some teflon on the long piece from the pump that goes into the black rubber grommet that has a filter at the bottom. But.. it is still leaking.. Its really hard to see where its comming from... Is it from where the long piece goes in the hole? or is it higher? I feel its higher, cause when i dry it quickly then touch it, its wet above the entry point. I read on another post that the pump can crack? maybe thats my issue. any ideas? |

i ended up changing the windshield washer pump.. and that leak stopped... now the other pump is leaking(rear washer). I think once I change it I should be good.
I guess the source of the leak is different for everyone... The parts guy at Hassel said that sometimes they crack...and needs to be changed. This seemed to be my case since all the connections seemed ok. |

=[ got a leak too but mine is pretty easy to spot thank god. Its leaking right below the black connector right out of the tank =/ hope its a o ring or something simple.

good luck the pump(http://www.joetlc.com/images/imagecache/1J5955651.jpg) fits into a grommet/strainer: http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...500_AA300_.jpg which fits on the white tank. Try changing the grommet first... |

Leak
Just buy the pump too, I've had to change mine twice along with the o-ring.
