Arrow Watch out for the F25 X3 in the lane next to you

The new X3 has not only grown in size by almost 8cm to be only 19mm less than E53 X5, the new X3 xDrive35i is also faster than all E53 X5s.

Comparo chart below:
F25 X3 dimensions in white and E53 X5 dimensions in blue.

WHAT!!!! I can't believe they got the weight down so low! Must be all that aluminum/plastic used over steel... Impressive but I wouldn't expect it to be a tank like the E53 in case of a wreck.

X3M///........... I wanna see it happen

My bet is those weights are kilos, not LBS for the new X3. If they got it to 1880 lbs, I'd race it! Maybe BMW finally figured out how to use unobtanium alloy. Then they could do it.

I have a feeling that was in Kg not Lb, what's the outgoing X3 in terms of weight for comparison?

BMW has grown in size and weight...
The F10 535i is 4090Lb (w/ automatic) compare to E60 535 which is 3700.

BTW my E92 335 xi is close to 3800, and get this the front fenders are plastic already, can't imagine if they were steels.
Don't understand how BMW is going to satisfy CAFE req't.
The F30 will be bigger and probably heavier than E90 as well, seesh.

Either way, 5.5sec isn't shabby for a small SUV.

- but if it is then I'll need to take a look and maybe trade-in the E53 for the new X3...

A late model Lotus Elise or Exige curb weight is ~2000lbs. No way the X3 weighs less than that.

sunny5280 is an unknown quantity at this point
This really shouldn't surprise anyone given the HP to weight ratios. I'd be surprised if it wasn't faster.

It's finally starting to look a little better too, I never did like how chunky looking the corner lights were since they didn't match the size of the headlights. 2011 BMW X3 xDrive35i First Drive – By Edmunds

I also love this quote in the article
