Question STRAIGHT PIPE 4.6 or SLAP THE X-pipe???????

whats the difference between a straight pipe and a custom x-pipe ..ive have put a straight pipe on (taken out resonators) making it sound vicious and seems a little bit more responsive...but ive read on the forums that some have installed x-pipes someone please tell me the diff and which one would be better? and would the x-pipe take away the growl...
also where can i find the best angel eyes for a 03 4.6
i have them installed on my M but the guy at my shop said they dont make them for a X5 or that they dont look good!

Love your avatar

If I remember right, and x-pipe is better for performance, because you'll retain the backpressure (which may or may not really be needed on a truck like ours).

The straight pipes will dramatically increase sound.

As for the angel eyes, try getting in on one of the group buys going on from JLeviSW

Here check out this thread. That's the nicest "angel eyes" I've seen.

he has an '03 though; so, unless he buys the entire headlight assembly; he's SOL.

He should be fine. Those rings are for pre-04.

the rings might be for pre '04, but the '03 lenses can not be opened.
at least that seems to be the consensus.

check out this thread.

Hey Peso,

Do you have a local shop in Vancouver that will install angel eyes? I'm thinking on getting in on the Predator group buy but want to make sure I can get them installed properly up here first.

x pipe smoothes out the exhaust note.
straight pipe gives you the popping, gurgling on decel.

not much performance enhancement with either, just increased sound.
