Question Replica #87 wheels (?)

Has anyone bought replica wheels from Lakeshore Wheel & Tire? They sell pretty much all of the OEM X5 wheel replicas - including the #87. But more interestingly, they sell them in sizes not offered in OEM (e.g. the #87 in a 19"x10" !!) This appeals to me, as I love the looks of this wheel, but I wanted to stick with the 19" size. Also, they're only $212.50/wheel.
My concern, of course, is with the quality/durability. Please let me know if you have any words of caution against (or praise for) these replica wheels.

Thanks,

Why do you prefer 19" over 20"? If it's the harsh ride of the 20s, then going from 19s to 20s isn't going to make it that much firmer. If you are used to 19s, then 20s will just be slightly firmer. I don't know if it's just me, but type 87 doesn't look right on the X in sizes other than 20"

i just got the 20's yesterday and for some reason they actually ride smoother than my 19's did.. i'd go 20's, plus they look awesome!

I've ordered them and they should be here in a couple of weeks - I'll report back...

i currently have the 132's in 19" but I was planning to get a set of 18" style 87's from Lakeshore Wheel & Tire for this upcoming winter. You could ask LeMansX5 about it. I know he purchased a set of 18" Style 87's from Lakeshore W&T. here's link to his 18" Style 87's:

I've actually never ridden on 20's, so I'm not sure about the ride. But as far as the numbers are concerned:

275/35-20's are 28.66" in diameter, and have a sidewall height of 110mm
285/45-19's are 29.10" and 128.25mm

By comparison, the stock sport package 255/55-18's are 29.04" and 140.25.

So it seems that the 19's have a significanly bigger cushion - that's why I've been leaning that way... (I've bent a few replica rims on my old 3-series when it was running 235/40-17's - which have only 94mm of sidewall height - so that's why I'm reluctant to buy into a very low aspect ratio on the X5)

I could be wrong about the 20's though - maybe they're durable enough for the potholed roads I find myself on all too often... and they do look awesome!

I don't think it's only the sidewall height that makes a difference in the ride. You are also going wider which will distribute the force among a larger surface area. Also I have found the type of tires you purchase will make a big difference also. Some tires are much softer than others.

How about the weight factor? I heard that everytime you go 1" extra you add a considerable amount of weight. Also aren't OEM rims lighter than replicas?

the weight at the wheels is very importan to performance..
9 more pounds on each wheels hurts your car performance more than having a person in your ride.

I've heard that replica wheels are typcally heavier than OEM - is this true? What about general durability?
