Newbie Introduction with pictures

Hi everyone,
Just last week I picked up very nice a one-owner 2005 with 44k miles from my neigboor down the street.
Sapphaire Black, All Packages, 3.0L inline, TruffleBrown/Black.
Im really digging this car so far, and couldn't be more pleased with it in all aspects.

When it comes time to replace the tires, what are my options in getting a wider, more aggressive stance e.g. 4.8is?

Here are a couple of pictures.

awesome X5. i love the interior. For tire options, you would have to go with replacing the entire rims for a better stance. May i suggest BMW style 87 (the 4.6is rims) or BMW style 168 (THe 4.8is rims).

What i did was kept my stock 18s (similar to what you currently have) as my winter set up. And got 20" rims for the summer time. You can pick up a set of BMW Replica Rims for a very good price...

Enjoy!

Thanks guys. I'll check out the style 168 wheels. I live in Seattle where it occasionally snows and ices up. Swapping wheels out around December sounds like a good plan.

Congrats on the new-to-you X5. Where in Seattle are you? I've got family in Edmonds and come there quite often, so if you ever need any advice and/or deeply discounted work done vs what the dealerships/indy's charge, let me know.

Hi James
I live about 40 mins south of Edmonds in Sammamish. Yes I'd be interested in talking to you about a good affordable Indy . With the per capital BMW ownership around here there must be lots of em. Pm me next time you are in town.

Good and affordable in the Seattle area is kind of an oxymoron, but I've got a few names for you I suddenly forgot the names of the shops I used while writing this, but Google found me this - BMW Repair Shops & Mechanics in Washington | BimmerShops.com

I've personally used Strictly BMW (directly across the street from BMW of Bellevue) when I had what turned out to be a catalytic failure and then I used Eastside Bavarian once out in Issaquah when I destroyed my differential while at a DTMPower.net meet & drive. To be honest, both times I've had absolutely terrible experiences, but others have had good, so it's going to be a hit or miss. One of my best friends lives near Marymoor, so next time I come until town I'll make sure to get a hold of you.
