Gunmetal or Black Rims?

I'm thinking of purchasing a set of rims for some snow tires, and want to go with gunmetal or black.

Anyone that has this.. can you post a picture? I haven't decided if i'm going to go with 20s or 18s yet..

What color is your X? Just picked up a set of black wheels for my Imola Red X. Haven't mounted them yet, but can't wait.

Oh, and stick with 18's for your winter setup.

I don't get the black wheel thing. Besides not really liking the color, it makes the wheels appear smaller to me visually. Black 18's are going to look tiny.

I was once a firm believer of 18's for winters. However, as of the last 2 winter seasons, i run 20's non-staggered on dedicated snows w/ 30mm rear spacers. I may keep the 10mm up front to test out, this season. They've held up quite well even on ski trips...some of which include a bit of off-road and inclines of ~30-35% up an unplowed driveway.

Several years ago it was a challenge to locate snow tires in 20's for my X...but with the release of more performance-oriented suv/sav's, i'm finding more available variety.

At the end of day...decide on what's best & safest for your situation. Happy hunting & motoring

I guess it depends on where you live. I'm in Colorado and usually take my family on weekly trips into the mountains during winter which inevitably means driving in some pretty crappy weather. I see your point about the 20's but I went the route of the next closest thing to a studded tire and would rather sacrifice cosmetics for safety. This will be my first year on a dedicated winter setup, so I stuck with what I understood to be the ideal setup. I'll snap a few pics when I get them mounted...
