Just another "Hi I'm the new guy"...

Hi all,

So I've been lurking a few months and occasionally posting, so I figured it was finally time to introduce myself. My name is Cyrus and I drive a 2002 X5 4.4i - Ti silver/gray leather (Premium/Cold Weather/Xenons/DSP Premium Audio). As a grad student I don't have enough time to enjoy my car (I already spend WAY too much on her), but man do I really love the X. I've been fortunate enough to have driven a lot of great cars, but I had no idea how excellent the drive was on a BMW until I got the X. I thought I'd finally post some pictures of her. So far she has 20" HRE 647R wheels (staggered and offset same as style 87s), the Michelin Diamaris to match (which are so damn loud!), Remus exhaust system, OEM clear side markers, and the OEM clear/red taillights on order. I plan to tint-match the front windows and then leave her alone and enjoy just enjoy the drive! BTW 93k miles and runs/drives like it was new.

-Cyrus

wullaby,
They are just the normal sidemarkers with OEM bulbs so I think they do have the "yolk effect" you speak of. I bought them on eBay brand new in BMW boxes for around $50 shipped and installation took 2 minutes.

They're all over eBay around the $30 range, both in halogen or LED styles. I went with tinted LED ones so it made the marker light look like an extension of the door molding.

Very clean X you found there, Cfmistry. Do you have a custom exhaust or just tips? Any future mods on the list? Since you've got clear fender markers, clear headlight and taillights lenses seem like the next logical step. You can get clear cornered headlights for free by simply removing the yellow reflector, take out the wafers on both the lowbeam and highbeam headlight, throw some $35 eBay angel eyes in there and it'll make a big improvement on the front end.

Sorry I never saw your post m5james. The exhuast is Remus, I really like it's sound but it is very subtle from inside the cabin. I already installed rear clear/red taillights, and I want to do the headlights but I'm nervous to take off the bumper etc. to remove the headlights.

Honestly, it's not that bad...just black and gummy when you split the lenses apart. I've been meaning to post pics, but I silicone my angel eyes into place vs glue, looks very stock.
