Dash board creaking noise??

Anyone experience creaking noise from the driver side dash board when driving on abrupt bumpy roads like on the freeway not like speed bumps?? it gets pretty annoying, by the way I have a 05... I tried pressing really hard on the dashboard where the speed odometer and the creaking noise goes away..

oh yes...

I have an annoying dash rattle as well, after many trial-n-error attempts to localize it I've finally found it. Mine is the bezel for the Business CD... with the little cover up, if I jam my finger into the cd bezel opening just enough to press it against the dash, the rattle goes away.... not sure if there's a way to fix that short of replacing the entire CD player though... I haven't taken out the unit yet, that may be next to see if I can tighten things up in there...

Got that creaking noise on my 6er too. Same location. So this problem is not limited to the X5.

I had a creaking noise that I swore was the dashboard. I kept looking for it and found the drivers door panel had loosened at the bottom. I pressed the door panel snaps back in and my noise was gone. I hope your fix is as simple as that.

I sometimes wondered if there was a market for a automobile noise detection and elimination company. A giant shake table for the car to isolate the noise and different wedges and tapes to fix the problem. Something like $50 per creak guaranteed. I'd pay that.

hi guys, i have the exact same problem on my brand new 2008 E70. i am trying to stay away from getting this fixed as even the dealers (trivetteclassic sydney) are afraid of removing the highly complex dash. I will not spend my money on another BMW. Anyone got any idea?
