HELP REPLACING XENON BULBS

Ok, I'm not an idiot I swear, but I tried changing my headlight bulbs this past weekend and it jsut can't be as involved as it looked. I moved the resevoir from behind the headlight on the driver side, but then there was a cover with 5 torx screws that seemed like it need to be removed and after an hour I couldn't even get the damn cover off! I'm changed headlight bulbs a thousand times and it was never this hard. I'm convinced I'm missing something here. Someone please help! Thanks guys.

Best and easiest way to change the bulbs is by removing the headlights unit then remove the three torx scews to take the covers off..

There are only 3 torx screws on low beam(xenon bulb) cover. 2 top and 1 bottom. Without removing the headlight, it's hard to get to the bottom one. Unless you have right tool and small hand.

It's a lot easier to do it when headlight is off car. There are 4 bolts. 2 on top and 2 rear bottom. Check the link mrbmwx5 gave.

I can help you out if you still cannot figure out. I'm in central NJ.

The DIY article has notes near the end on the facelift model.

This should help too:

You don't have to but would make it easier. Loosen the bolts that hold the headlight down (mark it with tape first so you don't need to re-aim your headlights).

The you can push the head lights towards the front until they hit the washers. Then you have more room to get easier access to the bolts that hold the the cap on the back. Its cake from there. Just reference the pics for bolt locations and bulb access.

Good luck!
