Any experience with the BMW branded child booster seats?

Right now I have 3 kids, ages 1, 3, and 5 all in harnessed car seats, with the two youngest rear-facing. My 5 year old is very tall and is about to outgrow her seat by height. We live in Alaska and there are very few stores selling car seats and most of those are the standard flimsy Evenflo, Graco etc seats. I know there are BMW branded boosters available overseas...anyone have/use those? I was wondering if they would work better since they are designed for the vehicle. Those big bolsters on the sides of the back seat really make it hard to fit three seats back there!

I wanted to get one but they're not available in Canada as they are not deemed safe for Canadian toddlers... I love my country but we're always behind the US when it comes to cool stuff.

Sorry don't have an answer but I can't imagine trying to fit 3 in the back. I have two forward facing kid seats and trying to fit a 3rd would be tough (I know exactly what you mean about the side bolsters).

It's tough but do-able

Here I had a Safety 1st Complete Air, Combi Coccoro and a Sunshine Kids Radian all rear-facing.


Right now I have the Coccoro behind the driver rear-facing, a Radian forward facing in the middle and the other Radian rear-facing behind the passenger. The issue with the booster is that it's so tight it's very hard to buckle.

i am sure it is another overpriced item from BMW. there is no special seat made for a certain car. there is a standard that manufactures have to follow i'm sure. Just like the recaro and ferrari seats for kids.

Wow! I know exactly what you mean.

I have a hard time buckling my boys in now - as the kid seats cover the seat belt latch.

This kind of reminds me when they were younger and was like packing for a trip just to go anywhere! Certainly got your hands full with 3.

BTW .. I'm cringing at those kid seats on the leather seats. I bought the rear seat covers for stains and stuff but not sure the indentations from the kid seats will ever come out.

Lol, yes it takes ages to get them all out the door! Just getting the oldest in the car to do to school is an ordeal.

I have had leather in most of my cars since having kids and have never had a problem with the indentations not coming out. I dislike the thought of anything going between the vehicle seat and the car seat as I like them to be in there very tight, and putting padding in between means more room for movement.

I bought a Britax based on Daveycrockett's recommendation. I have been very pleased. It is indeed very difficult to find a booster seat that will fit these things because of the way the seatback is designed.

If you want to maintain a 5 point harness, then a Graco Nautilus might work for you. It works well for me, but I only have 2 kids, not 3.
