Quick self-level suspension question-2004 X5 4.4.
Took it to an indy today, and he read the voltages coming off the rear sensors while the vehicle was sitting still, with engine on, in a fairly level parking lot. RR was at 2.4 V, LR was at 4.9 V. Bad ride height sensor on the LR? If so, fairly easy job to replace? I'm pretty handy-I kept a 150K mile 2001 E38 on the road for 4 years and it never saw the dealership. Thanks. |

Yes, and yes.
10mm wrench and about $70 or so. Different part numbers depending on location front, rear, etc. easy to get the one right off he old part before ordering/buying. Ones with other part numbers can look exactly the same, but the orientation of he Hall effect sensor is different based on mounting orientation, so don't look at one and decide it's all the same. Get # off specific one replacing. |

Thanks for the help. Replacement sensor showed up yesterday, replaced it this morning. Pretty easy job once the wheel is off, other than the damn electrical connector tabs breaking (love electrical tape!). Swapped it out, drove it for 5 minutes, and the error message disappeared.
