-I'm not really looking to get winter tires just want to get all season ones so I don't have to change in winter or summer. Really, it never gets very cold in vancouver, occasionally hits below zero but usually on average it is like 5-10 degrees Celcius in the winter... And also i'm not really planning on driving in the snow very much if it happens, but if I do I just wanted to get something all season. I don't think insurance can call it neglance if i have all season tires in mainland vancouver, now if I drove up to the interior with summer tires rated m+s that would be a different story, or if I drove around the city in snow with only summer tires and no M+S symbol, but if the tire is rated for light snowfall and are new, and I drive only in light snowfall I can't imagine that being neglant...

Costco really needs to fix that what a waste of my time. I'll try to cancel this order and get the atturo or maybe pirelli if I can find them

Thanks for all the help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Yes, I know what the weather is like in Vancouver, born and raised here. I live downtown now.

All season tires can be contributory to a charge of negligence if you are in an accident. The issue is whether it is below 7C, not whether there is snow on the ground. Given the recent law in Quebec requiring winter tires, and the power of ICBC, I expect a similar law here before too long. I would actually welcome it.

See my post above. The M+S symbol doesn't help you. But if you want to go with all seasons, then just decide not to drive when conditions are bad, ie close to freezing. There aren't that many days when that is the case in Vancouver.

Assume you have 255 50 19 with the sport package. If so, Canadian Tire has Pirelli Scorpion Ice and Snow for a similar price to the Costco summer tires. Problem will be finding stock.

A cheaper alternative is to put winter wheels on. They are easy to find, the tires are cheaper in a smaller size, and it is much easier to swap them since you don't have to dismount them twice a year. People who try that seldom go back.

wow, that is a strange one. even the bridgestone site doesn't say how they are classified.
1010tires.com says summer as well. they are labeled high performance so i would expect them to be summers.

for the price at costco, i think you got a great deal on summer tires! (though these and all seasons are down right dangerous is the cooler temperatures).
you may have even saved almost enough for a set of winter tires and rims!!

I have a set of Pirelli ice and snow on 18" oem rims I am willing to sell, but I am on the island. $1,200 if I come there, $990 if you come here. they are on the X5 now and ready to test drive. (I will sell since I have a set of 17" rims ready for winter tires as backup.)

PM me if you want.

Anyone who consistantly experiences snow & ice for winter should have a winter set of wheels with SNOW tires. so-called "all-season" are now more accurately labeled wet pavement tires, good for only "light snow". Get some Blizzaks and stop cutting corners on safety. I've had Michelin Alpins on my van and run Pirelli snow & ice on my X5. This year is stacking up to be another big snow winter in the northwest. Try to be as safe as you can..., for you, your family, for the others on the road.

I agree with Mark. No substitute for safety. I run snows on my X5, 528 and always ran them on my Audis too. One way to justify the expense is that since you run the snows for 4 months, your summer tires will last that much longer.

Couldn't have said it better myself.
