secondary air pump p491/92 ...resolved...

Well thanks to Tom mrbmwx5 and the boys at endless details in orange CT....

Have been getting the p0491/0492 codes all winter just to cold to diagnose and figure out....last week we replaced the valve....which was completely shot, gummed up, dirty, and sticking open....that was not the fix...we had to go one step further.....thanks to Tom and Timmy and Jay at ED....they replaced vac lines 4, 7, & 9.....all the lines were shot. split, disintegrating and cracking.....all have been replaced.....immediately the old gal has pep back in her step....we cleared the codes....lets see what happens.....i think we found the culprits....

Rich

I have been chasing the same demon for a while. I even changed all of the vacuum lines, divertor valve(1) and check valve(6), code (P0491) still comes back.

You may need to bite the bullet and change the pump. I know I had the problem last year and $12 worth of rubber hose fixed the problem but I looked at pump prices just in case.(Somewhere north of $300!)

I forgot to mention. I did replaced the air pump to the tune of $495 plus tax.
