Chicago Blizzard!!

Chicago was hit with 20+inches of snow, coupled with 60+mph winds. It was definitely a blizzard in every sense of the word!

I was able to drive around during the peak of it, despite snow drifts of several feet high (I didn't go near those!)...But the X handled itself very well, in snow, as deep as 12 inches.

I have a manual 5 spd, with General Grabber tires.

I did happen to see a fellow X5'er caught in a snow pile on Roosevelt Rd... But we managed to get him out with a little push.

Just thought I'd pass that on....maybe there are other X5'ers that got to enjoy the snow storm as well??

Nice!! Snow is more tolerable and fun I imagine!

It's damn cold here in Big D with ice and idiots on the roads. But, the X ran like a champ and made the commute to work manageable!! Got MXV4 all season tires and love 'em!

Ya, true, JT. The X is really a tank in snow. Snow is coming to us this weekend, hopefully not 20' again......

I wonder how the weather in Dallas, and across the midwest is affecting travel for people heading to the SuperBowl? O'Hare was literally deserted yesterday. I think there's another 1000 or so flights cancelled today. It's incredible.

Very glad I don't drive my M3 anymore.....(I'm sure in summer i'll retract that statement!)

Yeah, you guys in the northeast have gotten killed this year. This really is the first major snow that we've had all season.

I'm not complaining, it was fun, and a good excuse to stay home from the office, play in the snow with the kids, and leave the blackberry inside!

Here's a picture of my neighbor's Subaru WRX....The only thing showing is a bulge of the roof line, and the windshield wipers that are sticking straight up......

Same here. My 2002 X5, new to me 6 months ago, kicked Blizzard Butt.

And the heated steering wheel made the 9° temps bearable.

My X5 was like a German Panzer rolling across the tundra of Ukraine. But unlike the Germans, I gassed up so I didn't run dry!
