I have no experience with the Blizzaks, they make a good snow tire, but Pirelli is better known for performance tires. So I think for a performance car like the X5 the Pirelli is better suited. And they are wonderful tires. I have a set for mine. And my previous snow car was a Audi S4 running Pirelli Wintersports and those too were excellent tires. I can't say enough good things about the Pirelli performance snows.

I've had the P Ice and Snow in the past in 19's and they're great! Another member bought the set and was really happy with them as well... I'd recommend getting them if there's difference isn't too big...

From my snow driving needs I never really needed to push the tires close to its limits or even up to 75% so your choice should also really depend on your needs and type of snow/ice covered roads you drive on.

Tirerack reviews should help once you understand your snow driving needs as you'll be directed to the better performing or mid performing tire.

G/L!

I have had the Pirelli Scorpion Ice & Snow for six seasons. Run them 4 mos a year. They hardly wear, min of 8/32 of 10/32 on all tires. They make a huge difference in snow and ice conditions. I have the 255/55/18 size(Sport). They will put out some noise though, not too bad. As mentioned before, Tirerack reviews will cover it.

Wink

I'm in Buffalo and we do have occasional snow . . . . Right now only about 24-26 inches.

My Scorps are dynamite. The ABS comes in before the tires slide, and there is no stopping them. I'm on 255x55/18 on dedicated wheels.

yes, but where you live are you driving in snow all winter long? I doubt that. The Pirellis work very well in dry and wet conditions in addition to snow and they don't wear too quickly either. I have had them in deep snow and these are 265-50-19 size and they work just great - no issues. I run them 4 months of the year and sometimes even into April depending on the ski season. They work better in the rain than my wide summer tires and I'm always dressed for a trip up skiing when the storms come in since I'm a powder hound
