BMW X5 Shaking while still

Hi I own a 2003 3.0i, just about to break 200,000. It has now become cold in Canada and the X5 has begun to shake any time it is still. The engine light is on, however it turned on after a fill-up yesterday. Regardless, I will check the codes. Though come to think of it, I got this problem before as well, last winter. But no light.

Reading around, I see a lot regarding misfires originating either from the manifold controller, intake boot, MAF, and vacuum leaks when it comes to shaking while still.

Tomorrow, I have about 8 hours at my disposal to look at this car.

So I just wanted to know, the mentioned issues aside, should I be checking anything else?

Any specific procedures and cautions?
