Intermittent wipers stopped working in the snow tonight

On my snowy trip back from Indiana tonight my intermittent wipers stopped working correctly. On the quickest speed, they only cycle every 30 seconds, and on the slowest speed they will cycle every 2 min. Not what one needs in wet sloppy snow on the highway. They were working fine until my daughter and I stopped for clam chowder at Bass Pro Shop. Came out and not working right. And I'd think that the rain sensor would have cycled the wipers too but nope.

I can only hope that they work right in the morning. Some times I think the electronics in the X5 think they're Lucas electronics from an old British car.
