Alarm going off +Car not Starting
I'm a definite newbie to the forum , but glad I found it today and signed up. At any rate I have a 2003 X5 3.0 with 74K on it currently. Just had the oili and filter service completed at the Dealer( aka Stealer lol) about 1 1/2 weeks ago. Problem, my wife is saying the alarm keeps going off and she's tried to start the vehicle multiple times and it has not turned on. She drove from Sf to Hayward and so I don't believe it a problem with the battery. She has a few things to handle and is letting it sit right now. So far seacrhing on the forums only thing I can come up with is the Hood switch problem most x5'ers have had as to why the alarm is randomly going off. Not sure how to explain why the car is not starting and hope that it is simply due to the alarm disabling the car momentarily? .. Well at any rate if anyone has had a experience like this I would gladly apprrciate any tips to remedy the situation.(i.e double click remote lock key, make sure windows are up, hood is down). Thanks again for any assistance and hopefully the car starts w/o a hitch when she tries in about 30 mins but otherwise I'll need to drive over there an assess the situation and maybe get a tow? I hope not..any help will be galdly appreciated and thanks and i'll have a few more inquireis now that I found this forum since i want to add an ipod connection , locate a storage cover and maybe othe rparts to add a lil spice to the ride for 2011 |

looks like it was a false alarm.. She may have inadvertenly locked the car doors with the remote while she was inside the car trying to listen to the radio..car is now starting ok..but let me know if I should check any other area in case

Hi
My alarm was randomly going off during the night I checked the forums and bonnet (hood) switch etc Replaced the battery and all is fine now As the car is sat on the drive during the week every couple of weeks (in the very cold weather)i charge the battery with a maintenace charger so a charge then a trickle As i said electrical gremlins could be down to needing a new battery I've also installed PV panels in the rear quarters which trickle charge the battery during daylight pluged into the 12v sockets in the boot (trunk) regards stuart |
