Side Mirror Motor Question

My driver side mirror can no longer be adjusted from the remote on the door panel. The passenger side works.

Also the folding mirror on the driver side does nothing now. Passenger side folds in but immediately goes back. I've read about the folding mirror issue but couldn't find a thread on the motor adjustments in a mirror not working.

I checked the fuse box and everything looked fine. When I try adjusting the mirror I don't hear anything from the driver's mirror housing.

Any help is appreciated.

Although both mirrors still adjust, they both fold in and right back out. Is this a commom issue?

Thats a common issue with a easy fix and not the same as the OP. OP's problem sounds like the motor is dead on one side and will have to be replaced. Your issue is that button on the motor is jammed i believe. The fix is on the tips and tricks page.

Yii,

I hit that little button on accident this week and my mirrors folded in and folded right back out....I never even knew that's what the button was for. I assume this is used for going thru a carwash or such? Anyways, it sounds like it is defective but there is a fix? I looked in the tips and tricks and its only for replacing the motor, this is not the same issue is it? Could you tell me what the fix is if its something else, thanks!

I don't think you can just replace the motor. I thought you had to replace the whole mirror assembly? I could be mistaken though.
