electric lumbar adjustment

I find that the electric lumbar adjustment just makes the seat lumpy and use little or no lumbar. It is not as good a the old fashion wheel on my Volvo.

What have the other group members found?

I actually like the lumbar support, just wish it would move up and down because for long drives I think it would relieve some back fatigue.

Love the comfort seats over the Premium seats they just feel a little more comfortable hence the name

I have a 2005 X3 with auto seats. If you have auto seats, the automatic lumbar support can move up and down (with the push of a button). I just wish they made the sport seats with the memory function.

I was talking about the comfort seat lumbar support moving up and down on its own. Mine does have the buttons to move it up and down and in and out but just having a setting where it would move up and down during driving would help. Its basically the same option as you have on a lot of Business & First class seats on airlines and it does help.

I have comfort seats on my '05. The only complaint I have is that BMW uses the exact same bottom seat cushion as on the stock seats. They should use the sport seat bottom cushion.

I have comfort seats in my 4.6is. I like the bottom of these seats because the cusion is softer than the sport seats. Big behind also makes the comfort seats better. I dont think I could have another X5 without them.

I agree with Coffeeman. X5 Comfort seats should have sport seat bottom, both for hugging sides and front leg support extensions. Interestingly, my 745 Sport with Comfort Seats have almost exactly that as part of their design, so it is a better deal altogether. For the X5, I decided that the upper back articulation is such a great innovation that I couldn't resist "not" getting it, even though it set me back nearly $1200 on my '06 Sport 4.4 on order. But I tend to have back issues and any thing that helps is welcomed. But the regular Sport seats on the X5 are pretty comfortable on their own right and you can't beat the leg extensions that come with it. Thought long and hard on this one. It was a no brainer on the 745 with its combination of sport seats and upper back articulation. BMW hopefully will redesign the comfort seats on its next X generation vehicles.

Like the sides that hug and the extension helps on long drive.
