New rotors & new Pads grinding noise

Just replaced all my front and rear brakes with new rotors and new pads. I did bed the brakes. Here is the problem, I hear a grinding sound when driving. It increase with higher speeds and also increases when braking. Sounds seems to come from the front. I have only driven about 10miles since the break job. Will this work itself out or am I missing something............

Any chance it's the bearings?

Did you replace aftermarket rotors and pads or the OEM?

Its not the bearing because it didn't do it before. The parts are not OEM. I am just wandering if it would take a specific number of miles to wear out and be okay

It's the new pads. Did you buy semi-metallic pads? Those are notorious for grinding noises.

Try the bedding process a few more times. Sometimes it may take more than once or twice for it to get bedded well.

I did get the semi metallic. I also changed from 17" wheels to 18" wheels. I bought these used and am getting a feeling that there is something wrong with one of the tires. Possibly a damaged or broken belt. I put the 17" back in and the sounds seems to go away. I am a little confused but beginning to think its a tire.

Any luck with what it was? The PO had changed the brakes as well, I get that sound once i start driving and it get louder at 20-40km/hr... mine is in the rear?

Should I try bedding? Is there a process to do this properly?

I discovered mine was actually the tires ( I couldn't believe it, I would have bet money it was my brakes). You might want to bed the brakes and give it a shot. read about installing the brakes and there is a good writeup about bedding brakes.

Well he did put on new tires as well... but what could be causing the problem? Thnx

LOL.....I changed my brakes as well as a set of used wheels and tires at the same day. So when I heard the sound, I could have sworn it came from the brakes. The used tires were almost out and had a "V" thread pattern. So I switched it out and the noise disappeared.

I would dismantle everything and see if the pads are properly installed. U would be surprised how people at times would put the metal side onto the rotor accidentally. Also make sure your calipers are working well and clean them up with brake cleaner to get the dust off. Also check to see if the brake pads are directional...........good luck......U will find a lot of help on this forum but being a smart ass is not the way to go about
