Took the x5 to GarageWorks instead

Hey u guys, i decided to have garageworks do the transmission oil change and filter. They said they would need the car for half a day because the car has to be completely cold. I had already bought the fluid and filter so they said they can use it but lawrence said the pan bolts are one time use? Is this true or bs?

ZF say to replace the Torx bolts that hold the pan on every time. I don't think everyone that has dropped the pan and posted about it on here has done that, but it would be a good idea.

About 1/4 of the torx bolts in my pan had to be heated with a small torch and carefully drifted loose. I destroyed 3 torx bits in the process. I taught myself some new words while doing this So YES they should be replaced. I bought tougher bolts for the pan and used a small amount of anti-seize.

The filter kit should come with new bolts, if I recalled.

well u guys, I just got a call from garageworks and they said the fluid change is done and they test drove it and said it drove good... cost me $200 for them to change the fluid and filter but I supplied the fluid and filter so i guess im just paying for labor... ill get the car back today when I get a ride their.. ill keep you guys posted on the outcome.. btw I used the pentosin atf1 for the fluid and spx filtran for the filter but the filter did not come with the pan bolts just the filter/oring/gasket. I was looking around their shop when I dropped off the car and seems like they use pentosin too..

If you start your X5 in the morning when it is cold and drive it up the road and it makes a clicking sound before it shifts, your tranny fluid is low. It will only do this for the first couple of shifts so listen carefully.
