The guy working on it was with BMW for 20 years but cannot figure it out but he does not think it's the MAF but I will have him check it I must be something simple and it does not do it all the time |

Hey guys I keep hearing about a DME software update could this be my issue?
How would I know if it needs it or if the Dealership can do it without them not doing it? |

got it
OK I will contact them in the morning so it would show if it's been updated or by the key I would assume
My guy who has been working on now says that may be the issue now that it appears that nothing else he has done has fixed it. I don't think he as the tools to do it and now he is saying I need to go to the dealership |

I was looking to see if anything related to this issue was every replaced in your car. The only thing REMOTELY related is the ignition coil was replaced at 48k miles in september of 2004.
