Rear window washer pump stuck on...

Hello All,

So the pump for the rear window washer nozzle runs constantly, even when the vehicle is off and locked. I disconnected the pump at the fluid reservoir. It was empty of course. Anyone ever had a problem like this?

Wiper still works, it just seems like something is calling for the washer even when the stalk on the column is in the correct position. I will have to look at my Bentley manual when I get home.

I had it and was the rear wiper board burnt. Pull the fuse in the rear and plug the pump in and see if it stops.

So I pulled the fuse for the rear wiper and the pump stays off. As far as the wiper "board", is this replaceable? Where is the board sold if it is available?

Thanks

2002 X5-96,000 miles - This past weekend my rear wiper washer motor did the exact same thing. I had to disconnect the motor washer for now until I can run by the steps that you recommended. I will check the fuse, the circuit for the motor, check for worn out wires on the lift gate. (Troubleshoot) I will let you know how it went.

I'm sorry I have nothing to contribute but I just had to say...these cars are unreal! I've never heard of such. Best of luck to you in finding a solution.

Hi, can someone tell me where this fuse is and what fuse number? I feel like an idiot but looked in the rear and can't seem to find the fuse number. Just had this problem today and had to disconnect the battery overnight to stop the pump!
Thanks!

Reviving an old thread here.

So the only solution to the rear window pump stuck on and rear wiper not working is to replace the motor?

It was a little snowy this morning and when I switched my rear wiper on and it was stuck, I went back to free it but forgot to flip it off first. I freed it up and it cycled once and when it did the washer pump was stuck on. Won't wipe anymore and I had to unplug the pump to shut it off. There was a fuse (41) in the glovebox that said it was the rear window washer pump but that did nothing.

The rear motor is somewhat pricey and this seems bizarre so it would be nice to have some confirmation on this before I order one. Also it seems insane that this would cause the bots to blow rather than the fuse. That is very poor engineering. Thanks
