Trans fail safe prog

I know there are a lot of posts on this topic but I have a strange problem and don't know what I should do. My transmission seems fine it drives smooth. My left turn signal bulb was out and i took the old one out, drove to pepboys bought a new one and put it in. Now the light is working but I'm getting the trans failsage prog on my dash.. Who knew replacing a light bulb will spit that out at you. Any Ideas? Thanks in advance

Don't know if this effects it but i had the socket for the turn signal bulb disconnected while i was driving to pepboys (approx 35 min).
