Check brake linnings message
I have just got a check brake linnings warning message but the brakes where just changed last year and are no where near getting low. Is there something else it could be if the pads are not low? Thank you. Happy New Year |

It could be the sensor.....there's one in front and one in the rear. Normally the sensor can be reused if taken out with care prior to the light coming on and the pads being changed. Start there.........Phil

Thank you phil.
Do you know if there is a guide on how to change them. Cheers. |

In this guide, the sensors are in step 8. You don't need to take the calipers off, or the pads out. There is one sensor on the left front, and one on the right rear. Good luck. http://www.xoutpost.com/articles/x5/...e-job-diy.html

No worries.
I should mention that the sensor is just a continuity loop, that when interrupted, causes the light to come on. So, if the plug on the harness is not making contact the light will come on. If the pads look good, I would start with unplugging the two harness plugs, and then plugging them back in.
