Are you talking US gallons, or imperial gallons?

I'd imagine US gallons. In my calculations I used 4.5L/gallon but I'm not 100% sure what my vehicle system computer calculates on. The numbers I came up with and what the vehicle reads are very close though.

City driving I'm consistently running at about 14mpg with winter tires on. I can't wait to put my summers back on or find lighter wheels.

4.54 litres/gallon is an Imperial gallon.

Multiply by 5/6 to get a US gallon. 3.8 litres.

Interesting. I'll have to look back at some of my past mileage notes and re-calculate to see the difference.

Anyone else find noticeable differences in driving between full and reserve tank levels?

Once you re-calculate your mileage figures they won't be as good as previously posted and more in line with the US posters.

And just a note on the tyre/wheel issue. A heavier wheel/tyre or, more correctly, a wheel/tyre combo with more rotational inertia will primarily effect your stop/start fuel economy, not so much your highway fuel economy. That's more effected by the width of the tyre due to aero drag. The tread design and tyre compound will effect your rolling resistance and plays a part at all speeds.

If the car is calibrated for Km/H, then it's using Imperial Gallons. US Gal = 3.785L
