[Q] Cooling System Accumulator, Metal Pipes

Is it normal for the pipes to come out when I replace the water pump? (Stupid question, i know) I recently replaced Water Pump, Upper & Lower Radiator hoses, Alternator, and the coolant Reservoir. I have a Minor/Major leak coming from the rear of the block. I suppose it is the Smaller pipe(6) from the cooling system accumulator, Because when i went to put the water pump on, It was really... Loose, as if it wasn't connected to anything. I figured it pulled it out of place. I seem to be loosing around a quart of fluid each drive +/- 20 Miles. I was wondering if anyone can confirm if this is the case or sounds about right.

Also If i were wanting to replace the O-rings(7 + 5) in the thing how would i get to both sides of the pipe. Do i have to take off the Intake manifold? also if i wanted to replace the Gaskets(2) how hard would that be?

Any help appreciated!!!!!
