130k Suspension Rebuild on 01 E53- H&R from ECS

I just hit 130k on the 2001 E53 3.0 and need new front end suspension.

About 6 months ago, I put poly control arm bushing in and now I am just replacing the rest of the front end suspension- ball joints, thrust arms, tie rods, etc. I was getting a lot of shaking at the steering wheel when braking over 60 mph. I bought H&R springs and Bilstein HD struts/shocks from ECS.

The question that I have is -will it look funny to drop the X 1-1.2" from the H&R springs with stock/non-sport 17" wheels?

I'm glad we could be of help sourcing all those parts. The lowering provided in the springs you purchased will bring the top of the fender and quarter panel closer to the wheel and tire. I don't think this will look "funny" at all, in fact I think it will "sport-en up" the look of the SAV.

The H&R springs arrived quickly from ECS but only included two springs. ECS was fast with issuing a return label and return authorization and apologized for the mix up. Its a 1 month wait for them to get the right spring set in from H&R.

My indy has the car all apart now so I ordered the Eiback pro plus springs and anti roll bar kit. Part No. 2076.880. With Bilstein HD's and all new front suspension parts it should be a night and day difference in handling.
