Whatever you do, get a pre-purchase inspection before you buy one (see the thread about 2002 X5!). I'd recommend having Adam down at European Auto (Spring Mountain and the 15) look at it. Tell Shelina "hi from Kirk" when you schedule the appointment/stop in.

Transmission is a known issue, as are coolant leaks (valley pan gasket), sway bar end links and all of the front bushings (thunks). Do your due diligence and you'll be loving life in a nice E53!

I'd recommend getting one with an extended warranty unless you are very mechanically inclined and are good at fixing things yourself. If you are handy w/cars, Das Autosport can get you the parts for a good price and he's in Vegas (1 or 2 days to get pretty much anything, plus he has a ton of stuff in stock since he has an '05 4.4i X5!).
