Angry Passenger sideview mirror Sticking

Has anyone experience the Passenger Side view mirror sticking after it faces down when you place the car from reverse to drive? My mirror tends to stick after we had a minor snow storm and it won't return to the normal setting after I place it to drive. I would have to readjust it myself.

Is there a TSB regarding this, I also had the drivers headlight assembly replaced and the dealer installed some new hid light bulb that does not match the same color (not as white) as my passenger side. Do you know if the dealer has 2 types of bulbs they usually install? They should of just put my old ones back in.

Same here - I've found that, if I press the seat memory button, then the mirror will return to the stored position.

Same here. I have a problem with my passeneger side mirror when I shift to reverse. Sometimes it does not want to revert back to the original position after shifting to drive mode.

and me too. Not always, but sometimes the mirror fails to return to the preset position after engaging reverse.

So are we looking for an electrical, electronic or mechanical fault? I suspect electronic

Wow, me too It seems like it "pops" as it goes down. I wonder if the linkage (or something similar) needs lubrication.

Like so much other "leading edge, bleeding edge" technology in the BMW line it's full of bugs. I've had the mirror stick, move of it's own vocation and, for a while, both mirrors dipped for reverse. Then it all gets better! Past the stage of caring.

My problem seems to be the opposite. When I shift into reverse, the passenger side mirror does a little stutter dance, like it can't make up it's mind.

I have had the same problem intermittently. Pressing whatever memory button I have my current mirror/seat settings does get it to come back in place. Just remember if you're driving, you will need to press and hold down the memory button for a few seconds for the settings to kick in.

Any resolution on the passenger side mirror and why it has a mind of its own when you put the car in reverse?
