I have fitted some nice looking smoked led rear lights to my 2004 4.8is x5,everything works fine apart from I get a message up on the dash (check rear tail lights) which I have been told is the cancbus system looking for bulbs, also the rear lights flicker when on.I have fitted resistors but it has made no difference, has anyone got any idears how to cure these.problems as I really like the lights.cheers.

If I remember correctly (A quick SEARCH would verify) you need to fit 4700 µf across each of the + and - wires feeding the lights on each side but I am open to correction.

Milton Keynes? Stop by Red Bull Racing HQ and have one of their engineers wire that up for you!

Totally off-topic and completely unrelated, but congrats on your home town team's F1 World Championship. Bet it was one hell of a party!

Do you know someone who has EDIABAS/INPA with NCS? With this tools you can recode the LCM so that check-control won't check the bulbs. I coded that myself for my X5 for the AE's LEDs.

i had the same problem and it turned out to be the connector that plugs into the rear light, i pulled it out a little and wrapped some electrical tape round it tight, job done, the connectors get worn i was told.
