Newbie: DVD/NAV Blank Screen Problem!

Hi,

I bought a 2006 BMW X5 3.0 in a auto auction but it comes without DVD and/or CD Changer in the trunk (see attached photo).

When I start the car, the sound comes on, I have sound but no image but the screen looks like want to turn on and when I turn off the car, the screen shows some lines. I don't know if because i don't have those units in the trunk or can be a backlight problem.

I attached a video to see what happens.

I appreciate your help, I'm new to this BMW.

You don't have the brain aka BMW DVD Nav drive. Without the DVD drive, you're not going to see anything on the screen.

You are missing the mkiv navigation computer. Do a google search for "bmw x5 mkiv" and you can get more information on what is missing

your dvd nav and cd changer are missing. you need to replace the nav unit but i'd go with the dice ipod instead on the lousy 6 cd changer. i have a dice ipod setup. i'll give it to you for 1/2 price.
