Hey man! thank you so much for all your help and effort! really appreciate it!! I got my player and I'm happy because it is the right one!! I was luck that the seller was only 10 miles away from where I live so I just went and pick it up and he had tested it for me. So now I really need your help with the installation! oh by the way I checked the harness and the connections you have on those pictures and I have the same harness and connections. I just tried to download the pdf files that you have uploaded but I ended up with installing a program called whitesmoke for some reason. please do me this big favor and email me the installation files to my email address. here it is [email protected] thank a lot man!! you really made my day because i've been looking for this player for months now! thanx you are the best!!

Oh wow I didn't know you could have aux3, again thanx man for all the info. I'll keep that in mind if I wanted to add the aux3, but right now all I need is to see those two babies working. I hope the installation wouldn't be too awkward? Although I really enjoy working on my X5. A few weeks back I spent 8 hours working on it in one day. Ok man waiting for your email. Thank you

do your wires lay across the floor like that? my dvd player is in the driver side rear cargo area with the nav unit and cd changer (cd changer has been changed out for a ipod) and the screen hangs from the ceiling. they also came with wireless headphones, so the parents don't have to listen to cartoons. always thought it was stupid to mount them where you have to pull the vehicle over to change a movie. I don't like the idea of having tv screens on the headrests, where a kid would smash their face into in the case of an accident.

I picked up the DVD player and yes it turned out to be the right one for my system. The guy who sold it to me didn't even know for what car that player was and where it goes on the car. Man... This DVD player it took a lot out of me to find because there is none in the country and even in Germany I was told. BMW don't make it anymore! So if any of you guys have a bad player hurry and buy that on on eBay because it's gonna be really hard to come across another one!

TO answer your question joeboch, Yes our wires for that model dvd player run from the front driver side to the rear seat on the floor.. but the wires are hidden. the dvd is mounted to metal with false carpeting that mounts in the middle of the rear seat on the floor facing up .. like the attached pic. I agree about the lcds in an accident but i like the fact i dont have to get out and swap dvds. If im in the backseat it allows me to listen to my cds to. I also like the fact it has 3 inputs. 2 of which can be shared between the lcds. Sorry abou the dirty carpet.. I pulled it out today and shampoo it.

Yes Joeboch I love it too when a plan comes together too, usually it doesn't happen to me very often hehehe but I'm glad that it did this time! I'm thinking to do the installation myself, somebody was nice enough to send me the dealer full installation manual. Did anybody tried to install this system before?? I just wanna know if it was easy if I follow the instructions or is it better to take to a professional? Usually I'm good with DIY and I did a lot of work on my X5 but I'm afraid that I might mess something up. Thank you guys for all your replies and help!!
