-10°F HERE!!!!!Any difficulty starting up this morning?

WHOLY......... It was -10°F this morning, actually now!!!!! I'm living in CT. I just never run into such a cold morning before. Even in boston I came from, the coldest morning I ever seen is aournd 7°F. Glad my car just blown valve cover gasket and oil seperator last week, and got replaced in time.

Good luck with you guys!

Ever since I got my Alternator replaced about a year ago my X5 has been rock solid in the cold. I too had my valve cover gaskets, spark plugs, oil seperators and cabin filter replaced a few days ago as precautionary maintenance work. Glad I did it!

I also live in CT (near LI Sound) and when I got in my car and it was -1 this morning. Cold for sure. No issues on starting. I am however, thinking ahead to next winter, considering using 0w30 Mobile1 as I have read its better on very cold starts.

You can solve the problem once and for all by using 0W40 All weather proof.

Not really a "problem" but my X5 (06 4.4i) does take 2-3 seconds of cranking to fire. Ive posted on here before, but it seems to be just the normal with these in cold weather.

Right now I am using 5w40, but I think I am going to make a switch, at least for next winter.

That's not usual, for a 06' to crank 2~3 seconds. Mine 01' never takes more than 0.5 sec to start, check see if you need a tune-up.

Just my 2 cents.
