Well painting something yourself totally depends on how much experience you have. I know guys that can paint a car with a spray can and make it look good, and I know some people with a spraygun... you know how it goes. If you're a novice painter I'd recommend taking it to a bodyshop... HOWEVER, if you try it yourself and do mess it up you won't have lost much more than the cost of paint.

Paint can be found at PaintScratch Touch Up Paint, Spray Cans, Paint Pen

12.5 oz. Basecoat Spray Can @ 24.95
12 oz. Clearcoat Spray Can @ 12.25
2.5 oz. Rubbing Compound Bottle @ 3.75
3/4 inch masking tape @ 4.50
2 oz. Acrylic Lacquer Thinner @ 1.95
2 oz. Wax and Grease Remover @ 2.00
11.3 oz. SEM Adhesion Promoter (Spray Can) @ 16.49
12.5 oz. Rubberized Primer Spray Can @ 15.25
Spray can trigger sprayer @ 3.99
The Basecoat Spray Can is the color
The spray can of Clearcoat is the topcoat.
The 2.5 oz. Rubbing Compound is used for smoothing and polishing the paint.
Masking tape is automotive quality and will not leave a residue.
Lacquer thinner for cleanup, thinning and wiping off mistakes.
Wax and Grease remover to prep the surface for painting.
Adhesion Promoter is used as the first layer on non-metal surfaces for maximum adhesion.
Rubberized Primer is a primer for non-metal surfaces.
The Spray Can Trigger attaches to the spray can and gives better spray gun control.

think i could skip a few of those?

What you really need is a good flex primer, paint, and clear. Make sure they are all compatible with flexible plastic, most paint is designed for the metal bodypanels. You should know that 80% of painting is the prepwork, so you have to sand the panel and prime it well to get good results. You can buy rubbing compound at WalMart, you will need that as well as the sandpaper.

Very good advice and thats how I would do it.Flex primer is a must!

for all the hassle just get an auto body to do it for around 200 dollars. in the end you know it will be able to handle the outside element. dont do it yourself
