rear view mirror mount

I was thinking about installing a gentex rear view mirror with back up camera and auto dim functions. It is the same one in the current toyota 4runner.

However, I think bmw has the hexagonal mirror mount rather than the standard wedge correct?

Are there any adapters out there that allows me to install aftermarket mirrors?

ok it doesn't seem like one exists....I should just replace it with a new wedge button.

How hard is it to remove the old hexagon button from the windshield? Any one with prior experiences? These things are glued on pretty tight to the windshield. I would definitely hate cracking the glass just for this mod.

As about the hex, I didn't pay close attention to it, but I think you can't take it off. If you want to have your camera in the mirror, instead of the video module AUX plug, it would be easier to use one of those mirror covers that come over the OEM mirror. But the video module variant is much easier and more OEM-ish.
