Exclamation How can I tell what SVMirror I have? Shattered!!!

Hey..

My right side view mirror got crushed this morning

I was looking up replacement parts but I see that there are several different kinds of mirror replacements. (All the other parts are fine, the mirror glass is just crushed).

There is the electrochromic mirrors and then there are the regular heated. Please - please tell me they are just regular heated glass. The others are $350 Each!!!

I have a 2006 X5 E53 3.0i sport package.

If you put Auto Dimming to non-auto, do you get the effect?

i think yes because there are only two wires + & - but those are for heat i think so the mirror itself does the job i think.

You don't. I currently have auto dimming and took the short cut of replacing both of them with non auto dimming, just the heated feature. The auto dimming have an additional plug for the feature. Also if you do a diagnostic scan with GT1 it comes up as the mirror being faulty. I mean it is a cool feature, but expensive if you have to replace.
