P0161 O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank 2 Sensor 2)
So far the car has been great and very reliable for the last 5 years I have owned it. I'm still under 29K miles and haven't had any issues until today. The SES went on and it's: P0161 O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction (Bank 2 Sensor 2) I normally do my own maintenance and not afraid to DIY. Has anyone had this issue before? In the past I would just swap out the O2 sensor, however, I wanted others opinion first to see if it could possibly be related to something else. So I guess, to summarize: 1) Do you recommend I swap the O2 sensor? If so, do you know exactly which one of the O2 sensors this is? Sounds like the secondary sensors, if it is which one? ![]() 2) Do you recommend I check something else? Maybe a vacuum leak somewhere? Details appreciated. ![]() 3) Do you recommend I just clear the code and see if it comes back? ![]() Thanks all. |

Just to update this post that might help others. Clearing the code did not help as the SES light came back so I ordered two new rear O2 Sensors and replaced them myself.
Problem appears to have been resolved. |
