loss of powersteering and rear doors don't unlock

I've had the weirdest things happen lately, mainly the loss of the powersteering and then the rear doors not unlocking with the front doors or hatch. Also the low oil warning came on, but there is plenty of oil in the engine. The low oil warning went away with a restart, but the powersteering is still not working. Anyone with a clue?

Did you lose powersteering completely or is it just not as easy as normal to turn the steering wheel?

To me the ps is gone completely. I wonder if it's my general module as it's sporadic and if you shut down the car and restart it sometimes resolves itself.

Maybe you have something like I had. I have cut a wire to the GM3 module.

But my power steering was not completely gone.

Good luck

I had some strange electric problems with my E53 too. The rain sensor, alarm horn did not work and when i switched on the rear window heat i lost my radio signal. I started to search the problem at ground connector, cables and modules. I was surprised when i found out that there was a burned 5A fuse. Replaced and all my electric problems were gone.

Next time i would check all fuses first before i start teardown my car.
