is cleaning them similar to a referb?

i got a price today for a referb on the injectors

one injector is £90+vat , this is at a very reputable Bosch approved centre in Cardiff, and they say they can turn it round in a day if i drop it off in the morning

Why don't you start with something simple first. Check the compression in each cylinder. Perform a leak down test. This will tell you if the cylinders and valves are in good condition. I would also inspect the brakes and driveline for anything causing binding or drag on the system. This would make it feel like it is low on power, but in reality you're overworking the engine.

It sounds like you're chasing phantom problems with the injectors and turbo but the biggest thing I would check is the boost pipes. Make damn sure all pipes and connectors are tight and not leaking.

Podge, I've just skim-read this post and it seems to me that guy's are throwing ideas out there and you are trying those ideas blindly. No disrespect chaps, you're only trying to help of course.

I know petrol cars, I know little about diesels, so if I were in your shoes podge I would be taking my car to a diesel specialist. There must be a diesel man somewhere that you can at least talk to concerning your problem. Even if its just to get his opinion on your problem before you have to admit defeat and take it to him to have a look at.

I hate to say it but I bet he'd be able to solve your problem alot sooner than us petrolheads could!

Forget about it being a beemer, its a diesel truck/lorry/tractor-whatever, and thats all you need to know right now. Turbo, non-turbo, a diesel engine is a diesel engine.

Just my tuppence worth. Good luck

Ya looks lik thats what I have to do after today .. Mechanic is fit to crack .gonna get a proper diagnostics done again and not from main dealer pricks. For anyone who has same problem I ruled out cat converter today as a problem and same for cleaning egr valve. And no leeks n pipes .. Anyone know the voltage going to injectors ??? 12v ???

Again, I would check compression first. Diesels run much higher compression ratios and any drop in that compression will be very noticeable in terms of power delivery. Could be something as simple as a stuck valve or leaky injector.

Ask your mechanic or the diesel specialist!They should know the injector voltage!
Here,we are just "throwing up silly blind ideas for you to follow " and the main dealers are "pr*cks,according to you ,cant even do a proper Diag,so good luck with your mechanic!Hope you get it sorted and if you do get it sorted ,please let us know what it "really" was.
