Sounds like the clips are broken in the window and the regulator is jamming the glass. Open up the door card and have a look for broken bits of plastic at the bottom of the door.

do NOT operate the window until you get to the inside of the door - running the motor will tangle the cable, cut through pulleys and eventually kill the motor - you already might have to replace the regulator, even though the problem probably started with broken clips, as TT mentioned... the clips are about a $1 from a dealer in US (i ve seen prices from $0.94 to $5) but can't tell how much it is down under... there had been numerous posts about this, including the part number for the clip - 51338254781

Dude, just get a flat head screw driver, stick it towards the back of where the window runs up and it acts as a guide for the window to follow up.
