stock muffler 4.6 or 4.8 searching

Hi! I'm thinking to put in my 4.4 the "x pipe" but I have to cut and solder it, so if I don't like I can't replace my stock pipe anymore, so, as I would have a better sound from my car, I ì'd like to try to put inside a 4.6 or 4.8 stock exaust because I think it's better sound than 4.4. If somebody has it, I would like to buy!
Waiting for your news guys!

Davide

Really? I heard the 4.6 sound and it seems to be very different from the 4.4

Yes the 4.6 engine with the 4.6 muffler sound really good, unfortunately the 4.4i engine with the 4.6 muffler only looks nice, but sound is almost identical, i did it for cosmetic reasons...

I think there is a muffler "delete" write up that gives a little throat back to it. Search it... sometning will show up.

EDit:

Here is one I found with a video so you can hear it....

I personally don't like the mufflers delete idea...
Want the 4.6/4.8is mufflers to sound good on your 3.0/4.4i
You need to delete the center resonator with x-pipe plus cold air intake system.

Agreed. The delete makes it sound a little white trash-ish. Reminds me of a old chevy pick-up.
It sound good when you stomp on it but don't like how throaty it is when pulling out slowly.

Maybe one short glass pack just before the pipe split? See the link I provided a few posts ago for picks of location.

4.8is full pipes and mufflers paired with my stock 4.4i (N64) with resonator intact sounds slightly deeper, but not quite at the 4.8is throatiness. I wasn't expecting it to make a huge difference in sound or performance, but the slightly deeper growl was enough for my liking. Looks good too.
