Question Help! How Do You Install Grid on Front Bumper????

I am looking for how to install part Number 7. It is the mesh grid on the front bumper on the X5.

RealOEM.com BMW E53 X5 4.6is Trim panel,front bumper HP (up to 10/03)

I removed it and now cannot get it back on. I know you insert the tabs and slide left.

But.... there are clips which get in the way and won't permit you to slide left. I am supposing the clips end up holding the grid on in conjunction with the tabs. The only other way would be for the grid to go above the clips and not get clipped in but there certainly doesn't seem to be room.

Please only try to answer this one if you have dealt with this before.....

Thank you...
