So all this exhaust talk got me thinking.

Would this
http://cgi.ebay.com/2-5-Inlet-5-5-Sq...QQcmdZViewItem

And my truck is blue so I think would match as far as color goes lol.

Paired with the magnaflow x pipe resonator delete set up ..

What do u think I have a 4.4i?
Would this all work and fit? And sound good?

Word of advice, don't buy those. I am regretting it. At first, the sound was good. Not too loud, not too low. But after they're broken in, I hate them. I am looking to copy cat mrbmwx5 and get a set of oem 4.8is mufflers. Don't get me wrong, if loud is what you want, then go for it. I just hate how loud they've broken into. Also, when driving on Ms mode, you get a lot of backfire popping sound on deceleration. Kinda sounds like your TC is going, but its actually the mufflers. I have them set up with CAI, X-pipe and Dinan Stage 1 Trans and Engine software. It's at a point where my kids tell me "daddy thats noisy".

Anyone selling 4.8is exhaust in NYC or near... I'm buying!

If your gonna swap the muffer get a good brand that has a reputable sound....

I would first go with the X pipe set up and if its still not loud enough swap mufflers

These tips are pretty nice you can have welded to your stock mufflers
BMW ACS EXHAUST MUFFLER TIP E39 E46 E53 E60 E90 E65 E87 - eBay (item 320613150588 end time Apr-03-11 19:07:17 PDT)

im not sure how much your spending with labor but if its over $500 you might consider just going straight for some B&B exhaust that are on sale for $1200.

The only reason why I have not gone that route is bcus my buddy has a shop and does everything for me close to nothing

Yea okay so str8 pipes is a no go. I mean I want loud and I don't have kids but I do have a girl that I know is going to be in my case if it sounds like a Chevy. Even though I don't mind lol so I'm going to order x pipe today and try that first minus resonater. And I wont through it away as I can see from reading is a no no lol if I don't like we will talk about Mufflers. So witch x pipe do I get is now question. I can afford witch ever as they are cheap. But should I get a 20 dollar one or kick out the 100 for Magna flow? Is there a difference?

If you have a 3.0i engine - 2.25
If you have a 4.4i/4.6is - 2.5

Not necessarily...several 4.6iS & 4.8iS owners on this forum installed the 2.25 X-pipe. It boils down to the skill-set of the installer.
