Xenon or Angel Eyes for 2003 X5 4.4i w/ Halogen

Hello All ~

I've been reading a good number of threads from this forum regarding angel eyes and the xenon headlight conversion and am torn as to which route to take.

I am a huge fan of the clear euro headlights but am also very interested in the angel eyes as well. The only issue I have are the constraints related to the 2003 model of the X5. Apparently the sealant used for the headlights are on for good so it narrows my options in addition to the fact that the 2003 model is not compatible w/ just slapping on a 2004+ headlight assembly. Also, my X5 currently has halogen lights.

Does anyone out there have any suggestions as to what would be the best bet for a person in my position? I am trying to perform a cost benefit analysis between the Xenon w/ clear corner light conversion and the Custom Angel Eyes set up.

Please provide any feedback or suggestions you may have, I would greatly appreciate it.

P.S. How difficult is it to switch over from Halogen to Xenon, is it just plug and play or are there additional steps I need to take (e.g., reprogram to eliminate any "Light Error Indicators", swap out the ballasts, etc.)

You are better off selling your X5 and buying a 2004 or higher X5. You would then have your facelift, angel eyes and such. Conversions are not worth the time and money.

You'd need $1500 in parts first of all, then all that labor! Plus one day when you want to sell, good luck explaining to the buyer that you have a 2002 or 2003 with a 2004 front. Better trade-in the vehicle for a newer one...

Unless, it's another BMW enthusiast looking at your vehicle when the time comes to sell, you're going to get a lot people who will be skeptical of the whole set-up.
