X5 listed as worst of the worst!

Worst of the worst

These models, listed alphabetically, have multiple years of reliability that's much worse than average among 2001 to 2010 models.

Ugh. I've got an X5 AND a Town & County. 2 time loser. And my last car was a Saab 9-3. I just can't pick 'em.

Of course, who would want to drive the boringmobiles that Consumer Reports loves? Camry? Accord? Snore.

Well why am I not surprised the X5 features on a list of unreliable cars.

But f**k it .... I love mine, I'm handy with a spanner and I love a challenge. It's never left me on the side of the road (in fact no BMW I've ever owned has) and during the snow, I'm the only one in my area who's able to move around. It's just all those niggly things that irritate.

So yes - I could well believe the X5 would be in a list like this. But I don't care ..... I'll just keep fixing it and taking pride in the fact that I can do so much of it myself.

so what I'd like to know is how Range Rover missed that worst of the worst list....

And honestly, personally - yes I will accept lower reliability to drive a X5 instead of a Highlander.

You know they say if you want a Range Rover but dont want to send 90 g's for one. Just buy an Explorer and slap another 40k to the hood!

I'm not sure about CR. IMO It seems to me they have a bias toward certain products. Excluding Range Rover is just one example. I've found that bias extends to other products as well.

Granted, the X isn't that reliable, but the way it drives will put any Highlander to shame. It's similar to saying the Highlander's gas mileage puts the X to shame. We bought the X for the overall driving experience. Our's has been fairly reliable. If one did the research prior to purchase, one would have known the pitfalls of an X. Same with reliability. Ever corner hard in a Highlander? Don't.....Performance numbers are also totally different as well. Ok, I'm done preaching to the choir.

well unfortunately, reliability is traded off with driving experience... i'd rather have the latter at this point in time.
