Folding mirrors ?

I think I have folding mirrors, but they don't work?
When I press the small button nothing happens? Is there a fuse (location?) that I can check, or maybe the module?

Any help would be appreciated....Thank you

If my folding mirrors don't work at all, could it be the
micro-switch or maybe a fuse? Anybody have this problem?

Thanks Phill, your a champ!
I'll test it out this weekend............I'm guessing the micro-switch is
the culprit on both sides?

Have you tried contacting a BMW dealer to check if the car was supplied with folding mirrors, as in the UK many X5's do not have folding mirrors. Possible someone has just added the switch at a later date, because a window switch had broken.

With the how to link you will see the microswitches when you take the mirror covers off, if you do not have them you will know that your car was supplied without folding mirrors.

My mirrors folded in then out and did not stop in the folded position.

Glad to see one of my posts is linked on this site. Very humbled, thank you!

Do you get any noise, like the motors trying to work?

Presume they don't fold in and then back out?

And yes, you may have the button (next to the sliding one) but could be that the complete mirror housing has been swapped for manual fold one's. Hope not though.

Get the back off the mirror and you'll know immediately. Plus check the fuse - numbered in the glove box.
