want a nice deep sound from exhaust!

i tried searching for threads in removing resonator and installing x pipe. what is the quickest and cheapest way to get a deeper sportier sound than the factory exhaust? i have a 05 X 4.4I stock exhaust.thanks in advance for the ideas and suggestions.

Weasel will become famous soon enough
Easiest way to get deeper sound would be to keep the resonator in place but remove the rear mounted mufflers... I've seen a couple people do that and it gives a deeper/sportier sound without being raspy. It may be worth a quick search on the forum and/or youtube for the clips.

here is a sick clip of a guy (Sorry Mavrick, I didn't know it was you and that you talked on this forum till I searched on here) with a 2002 X5 4.4i with muffler delete, YouTube - BMW X5 4.4i Exhaust Muffler Delete

BUT I'm wondering IF the fact that the engines are different, will they create much of a different sound?
I am VERY VERY close to doing this muffler delete and finding some 2.25" pipe to run to the rear with some new tips.
Sounds SICK in this video.

my Mech even has a full set for a 4.8is.
I just figured that swapping the mufflers wouldnt make any difference in sound, since I do not have the bigger motor to create teh different sound the 4.8 does.

IMO this is the best sounding exhaust on a X5 I have ever heard! Sounds Tight, Sharp, and Modern.

The first clip that was posted sounds like a beat up pick up truck.

here it is....
