New member & A great site

As above just loined today and been reading..wow some great info/reading here.

I recently purchased a 2001 X5 3.0 Sport in very good codition for age .
I am very pleased with it and most things work well and runs very well. The problem I have (asking a question so soon) is about the radio.I have all working on the screen where radio usually is in other cars and the sat nav works as does the TV and the computer info etc. When i purchased the car the guy said something about module in boot was missing as it was faulty.I went to garage today who had a look in the left hand side in boot area and said the satnav/TV was there and also cd changer.I was told i needed to but o "FM Mod box" whatever that is lol. All i want to get is sound from CD and radio (non are showing in my display) and also sound from Satnav which is showing as there in the display.

Sorry for long first post but if anyone can o9ffer a suggestion thx in advance.
Trevor

the radio module is located down in the spare tire compartment, to the rear of where the tire is at. First thing I would check is that all the wiring looks to be secure and there's been no apparent water damage to the radio module (assuming it is there).

Thx for the swift reply.Thats what the previous owner had told me that the module had got water ingress or simialr and was told beyond repair. The audio place i visited today looked on left where sat nav and cd etc is and said an "amp" was missing .I am thinking your reply sounds better and will have a look under spare wheel tomorrow and see if there is an empty space.
THX again
